Employers come to campus to interview UCF students and graduates for full-time, professional positions. To apply for on-campus interviews you must register with Career Services to use KnightLink. Please go to the KnightLink section of our website to learn more about the registration and application process, or call Career Services at 407-823-2361 for more information.
On-Campus Recruiting Models
- To find out what companies are interviewing on campus, please refer to KnightLink.
- An "Open" schedule is one where any qualified student/alumni can apply to the position or sign up for an interview. You will need to apply for the position before you may select a time slot on the interview schedule.
- "Pre-Select" and "Closed" schedules are two different ways of referring to the same type of interview schedule. In this case, employers review resumes of qualified candidates and only candidates the employer pre-approves may sign up for an interview. You will need to apply for the position and then be accepted for an interview before you may select a time slot on the interview schedule.
Employer Information Sessions
- Employers may hold an information session the day before an on-campus interview date. Some information sessions are mandatory. If a session is mandatory, it will be notated on KnightLink under the details of the interview schedule. Please read the schedule comments section carefully.
- For more information, please refer to the Employer Information Sessions section of our website.
- To attend an information session, please RSVP to Career Services at: csel-rec@mail.ucf.edu.
Arrival & Check-In Procedure for Interviews
- Arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled interview time.
- Check-in at the Career Services front counter.
- Ask at the counter for the recruiter‘s name and whether the company has provided literature for you to review or an application to complete while waiting for your interview.
- After the interview, thank the recruiter for his/her time and follow-up by mailing a thank you note.
Changing or Canceling Interviews
- If you need to change or cancel an interview appointment, you must contact Career Services at 407-823-2361 no later than 48 hours (2 working days) prior to the date of the interview.
- Remember: Early cancellation allows another candidate to sign up for your time slot. If you are unable to cancel your interview in a timely manner, you will become a NO-SHOW. Avoid being a "No-Show" by contacting Career Services immediately or canceling via KnightLink.
- If an employer changes or cancels a campus visit for which you have registered, Career Services will notify you by telephone as quickly as possible. Please make sure that your current and correct phone number and e-mail address are in KnightLink at all times.
No-Show Policy
- Interviewing is a privilege. Failure to appear for interviews reflects poorly on you and the university.
- Please attend all of the interviews for which you have been scheduled. If you have an emergency on the day of the interview, please notify Career Services immediately at 407-823-2361.
- If you need to change or cancel an interview appointment, you must cancel via KnightLink no later than 48 hours (2 working days) prior to the date of the interview.
- If you are a "No-Show" for an interview and want to keep your KnightLink privileges, you will need to write a letter of apology to the employer. You must bring this letter and a stamped envelope to CSEL, and have a Walk-In Advisor review it. A Sample Apology Letter is available for you to review.
- If you are a "No-Show" for one or more interview appointments, this could result in having your interviewing privileges suspended for the rest of the academic term or longer. To reinstate your interviewing privileges, you may appeal your suspension in writing to the Employer Relations Committee explaining why you should be reinstated.
