Dr. Poole is the Associate Dean of Graduate Studies and has over 25 years of experience as a faculty member and more than 10 years of experience as a graduate school administrator. Over the years he has observed certain skills and characteristics that lead to success in graduate school.               1:54   a.) Assume responsibility for your program
              4:14   b.) Be proactive by seeking advisement at all stages of your program
              6:29   c.) Establish a mentoring relationship with a faculty member
9:57     Benchmark your progress to degree in your program of study
11:38   Be aware of academic requirements
              11:55   a.) Take care of academic problems immediately
